An Interim executive typically works for a company full-time for a pre-determined period of time. For instance, Interims may be used cover someone’s parental leave, or to run a company or department until a new leader is recruited.
In contrast, a Fractional executive works for a company on an going, part-time basis. For instance, a Fractional CMO may be the CMO for 3 companies at once, dedicating a third of his time to each company. This is an ideal move for companies that don’t yet need (or can’t yet a afford) a full-time executive overseeing something.

Consulting firms or digital agencies will invariably have a bias toward selling you a bigger scope: additional projects, more team members, higher fees, or more marketing spend (which increases their commission).
In contrast, as a solo advisor selling just my time and expertise, I don’t have these incentives.
Additionally, agencies very often will assign your account to the most junior (read: least expensive) person possible, while senior leaders only look at it occasionally when there is a problem. You have no visibility into just how much time they spend on your account, who exactly worked on your account, or for what exactly you are being billed.
In contrast, you get me and only me, 100% of the time, for the exact duration you request and with full transparency.

For each session, the client brings a specific issue with which they are struggling. By asking questions, the coach shines a light on different angles to the issue while simultaneously moving the client toward creating their own solution to it. Sessions typically last 60 minutes. They can be done in person, over video or on the phone. Sessions are typically held 1 to 3 weeks apart, depending on the client.
